How would a new Discovery with the inline 6 engine compare to a 2012 RRS in terms of ride and build quality? We have a 2012 RRS with 200k miles and are wanting to upgrade to a newer vehicle. We would like to stay in the LR family of vehicles. I drove a new Range Rover Evoque and wasn’t really impressed with it. Not nearly as solid feeling as our RRS. How would the new Discovery compare?

I owned a 2012 RRS and now own a 2021 Discovery 5 and a 2008 LR3. Last year, I was in need of a new vehicle and to be honest was not that keen on the new design of the 5. I went to a Tahoe briefly and really hated it. I got lucky to find a Discovery that had just came in and bought it. I must say after a year of owning it, that I think it is a great truck. The inline 6 with turbo is really quick and the vehicle handles quite well.

Does it feel as well built as your 12’ RRS?

I definitely think so. I have electric rear and back seats now and didn't have that on the RRS. So in many ways it feels better and improved.
