I just purchased a 28k mile 2016 LR4 Landmark to replace my 115k mile 2006 LR3. I have owned the LR3 since new and it’s been a great truck. All I’ve done is 285/18 Terra Grapplers, oil, brakes, water pump, alternator, coolant crossover and luckily compressor and struts under warranty around 40k miles. I know control arms, major fluids, plugs/wires and other PM is coming if I want to keep the LR3. I don’t hear any noise from the timing chain at this time. Keep in mind, this truck has never seen wading depths or trails. I just want a capable vehicle to get me out of urban and rural oh **** scenarios. I’m struggling with upgrading the LR4 or leaving it stock and dumping 7-10K into a LR3 worth half that to the market. Any suggestions?
