Hi All,

Looking forward to learning more about LR4s - I’m on the hunt for a cool family car, and have decided on an LR4. Still not sure about the V8 vs SC V6; I drove a V6 and it had plenty of power (but I haven’t driven a V8 to compare). My current daily driver is a Honda Fit, so the bar is low.

Fingers crossed I can find a clean example - I’m looking to spend ~$20k, and would like one with under 120k miles if possible.

I look forward to the search and to learning more about these cool family haulers.

Thanks in advance for the help I’m sure I’ll get here :)

Your price point should be fine. They are cool. I love mine, but I've come to learn they tend not to be jump in, turn the key, and drive away vehicles. They have more capacities and features than your Honda Fit, for example, but that means there's more to go wrong, and it does.

Welcome!
This group can help you with everything that can ever go wrong, or you can just take it to the shop - if you can find a good one.

We have 3 of these beauties, a V8 and two V6.
All three of us prefer the V8.

The more you spend the more likely it will be that you can find a "clean" example, but there are lots of options out there at your price point. Although relatively rare, "clean" low(er) mileage examples can be located in the $30K+ range. It took me a year to find my latest acquisition, but I wanted a specific exterior and interior color as well...

You might have different experience, but I found CarFax to be the most useful site.

Good luck with the search! I have two both V8 HSE Lux. The second, a 2013 Aintree/Arabica with HD pack, took a year to find.

Thank you! I’ve been looking on Cars.com, but I’ll check out Carfax as well. I connected with a local Jag & LR specialist, and I feel good about his shop if there is any thing I don’t want to tackle myself. My goal is to find one before the Fall - fingers crossed!
