They are the same thing... I've seen them both side by side and asked the dealership. I was told that they were just called different things for different years of LR3s and LR4s. I have the "G4" version, but it's identical to the non "G" part number version.

Make sure and look at the aftermarket ones also. Some are nicer IMO.

How much weight do the ladders hold? I am not the lightest fella, plus you have to add in the weight you are holding as you are loading up the roof.

No idea but the OEM ones rust if you just look at them in a cold climate. I'm on my second dealer replaced one. Will need to pull it off this summer and hot dip it.

I have experiences with both the OEM and Frontrunner ladder. The OEM's finish is much better than the Frontrunner but as someone mentioned, i've seen a lot of OEM's ladder get rusty over time. The way frontrunner's ladder is designed, it will clear all roof racks especially if you like to fit the rack closer to the back end of the roof.

I'm curious about the front runner rear ladder. The biggest appeal to me is the platform at the top of the ladder. I plan on being up and down a lot as I do a lot of photography and that would be an added value to me. Price is moot as I have seen the oem and front runner rear ladders for about the same price on eBay.
