After looking for a while and getting frustrated. I ask here and then go back to looking because I can't quit.

New flywheel bolts are a different drive type. Engineers at JLR are killing me. Old flywheel bolts were E12, new flywheel bolts are EP14. Add the RIBE 8 exhaust manifold bolts and I'm going to lose my mind.

Motor is in the engine bay and on the mounts. Really struggling to get the transmission to mate up. Bell housing and block are square to each other, just can't seem to draw them together. Pretty sure the pin on the torque converter is in the right spot.

Contemplating disconnecting the rear drive shaft for a little extra freedom.

Torque converter is not fully seated in the transmission.

Pretty sure you're right. Rain stopped and I dropped the rear drive shaft and slid the transmission and transfer case back. I was able to get the pin of the torque converter out of the engine and pushed the torque converter back onto the transmission. I'll try again tomorrow.

I get this close and it doesn't seem to want to go any farther. Does the torque converter weld bead appear to be in about the right spot relative to the inspection hole? Really don't want to pull the engine back out just to visually confirm that the torque converter is fully seated.

Torque convertor needs to be further back.
Take a screwdriver and turn the torque convertor, through that hole.
Hopefully the torque convertor will pop into the the transmission front pump.

Engine is back out. Is there something dumb I'm missing about getting the torque converter to seat all the way? Just keep playing with it?

Pull the converter out.
Line up the notches in the converter with the two lugs in the transmission.
While supporting the converter as level as possible.
Insert into transmission while gently rotating a couple degrees.
You will hear a solid clunk when the converter seats into the pump.
