Evening, I have a 2011 LR4 with the 5.0. Attempting to replace the evap detection pump above the spare tire area. Would you have any procedural resources on how a DIY might complete a R&R? Thanks
Kelly

Its a pain, but not difficult. Jack the suspension up to off-road height, lower and remove the spare. There are three (I think) bolts to remove the evap canister, remove those. You won't be able to take the canister out but it will be loose in place. There are two hoses for the pump, one big one just pops off, and I think the other was a clip. Then there are three bolts for that. You need to fiddle with the canister to move it around to get the bolts out and then get the part out.

Installation is reverse of removal. It helps to have a creeper with an adjustable headrest or even better a lift. Took me about an hour to do it.

103,000 miles and I got the same code.

I ordered the Bosch DM-TL pump from rockauto and installed it today.

Removed my spare, went to work and the 3 10mm bolts that hold the entire evap canister on (pretty sure that's what it is called) were all rusted out and weren't going to move.

So I removed my rear passenger spare tire and removed the pump from there.

Everything was super easy to get off, except one of the T-20 Torx screws. There is a bracket that is in the way, so I basically used a 90 degree screwdriver and got it out pretty easily. Torx keys would work too.

Had a little bit of difficulty getting the electrical clip to hook back in, but nothing too bad. Took less than 2 hours including tool cleanup.
