For one of my other vehicles I found a company that made a slick mount that used a T20 screw hidden behind a bezel. A couple days ago I grabbed a plastic pry bar to pop the hand rest trim off so I could start thinking.
I bent up some paper board to model it. Traced that onto a piece of 22ga steel and cut and bent the rough shape. Hard part was adding clearance cut outs for the bosses and press fit. Also ground a little aluminum off the back of the hand rest.
Now I need to make version 1.1, paint it black, and put universal magnet mount on it.
Apologies, for the potato camera that is my phone. You can also see where I dropped the trim piece and a bit of metal I need to leave on version 1.1.
