Hello for the first time to all you fellow Rangey fans.
I'd be really grateful for some help please.
My Owners manual tells me how to turn on the headlight courtesy delay for my 2001 4.0 Rangey - you know the one, where the headlights stay on to light up your driveway, but not how to turn it off!!
I've tried the reverse procedure for turning it on to no avail - any ideas???

Headlight courtesy delay
To illuminate the drive way after leaving the
vehicle, the headlight courtesy delay can be
operated, as follows:
1. Turn the lighting selector switch to
position ’2’ and the starter switch to
position ’II’.
2. Turn the starter switch back to position
’0’, remove the key, and turn the lighting
switch from position ’2’ to ’0’.
3. The headlights will remain on for
approximately 25 seconds and the
message centre will display ’HEADLIGHT
DELAY’.

Should stay on for only 25 seconds... if staying on longer than that you may have a relay issue.

Thanks for the reply Joey, but I'm sorry, I think you've misunderstood me. I can turn the courtesy delay on but not off. I'm one of those idiots that forgets to turn my lights off before I turn the ignition off. It comes from having a Pajero previously, which turned the lights off as soon as you turned the engine off - sorry for any confusion. I know the lights only stay on for a short while, but 'boy' does it annoy me!!

Oh.... sadly once it is set in the on setting you have to restart the engine, turn on then off the lights... shut the engine off IIRC.
