Thought I left the desire for aesthetic mods back in my 20s, but now that I have a set of black wheels, I'm thinking my car would look better with the black-edged taillights of the 2014+ models.

Has anyone tried any of the non-Valeo options, like those available through powerfulUK or these:

Curious about quality, longevity, if they're as bright as the factory units, etc...

I've bought the Valeo version for the same price. Search for UK parts vendors. $290 plus shipping.

Me too. I must be old but tail lights on trucks should be big red things.

I note that the pickup manufactures to some degree seem to have forgotten that as well and are playing around with LED's in their upscale vehicles.

While I suppose Valeo brand would be OK, it would surprise me if all LED's were created equal. Maybe the 4 is electrically better than our 3's but the 3's can sure put up a fuss when off shore tail light bulbs are installed.

I debated going that route as well, but was a bit worried of the quality of knock-off lights. So I opted to just get Lamin-X tint for the OE tails instead. Cut to fit and have held up extremely well for the past 4 years.
