Replacing MAP sensor on 2012 so had air intake removed. Noticed this small hose off of coolant rez that went into the throttle body. But along its route, there is a "T" (or 45) that has no connection. Shown at my finger in pix.

Is that a sort of open overflow? I had my coolant sys reworked last fall by very reputable LR shop in Charlotte, NC so expect they know what they are doing.

But curious so wanted some comments.

Thanks - Randy

Mmmmm...looking at LR4 service PDF page 1957 in my copy, there is a pretty clear example of the "T" pointing down 45 degrees and a yellow hose shown. This hose seems to go to throttle body base.

Another junkyard photo I had shows same offshoot hose in black...but the cooling sys on this junkyard car was hacked as you can see by the hose above the "T".

If anyone has their air intake off, would appreciate some photos in that region.

Thanks

Reading a bit more, it seems this throttle body cooling was redesigned over time. My 2012 just had a cooling system rework and I assume I have the latest parts as shown in this screenshot.

But still, I do not know how this 45 barbed connector can just be left open!?

You are are good, it indeed goes to nothing on our LR4. Went through same questions few months ago when I redid water pump and coolant system.. these engines and parts go in so many vehicles, not hard to assume in some configuration it needed a connector. Wouldn’t sweat it
