Does anyone know a specialist near these areas? Or, is there a good resource available to find LR specialists?

I'm trying to find someone to do a pre-purchase inspection. If I go to a dealer I worry that they will just trash any car I bring in to try and sell their own instead.

Not exactly close, but you can trust Brandon, the shop foreman at Land Rover Cape Cod. He's a LR enthusiast and very honest. And his technical knowledge of our vehicles is exceptional.

Hour and a half drive. Northern Motorsport in Wilder Vt (I use them) or New England Foreign Cars in Hartford VT.

Rick at Northern is encyclopedic and knows LRs well

Generally, the dealer service departments don't have anything to do with vehicle sales, so I don't think they'd trash a vehicle you brought in just to help out the sales guys. If anything, they'll see you as a potential future client and treat you with respect.

I would agree. If anything, they might be extra picky about what needs attention, which is not a bad thing.

BTW, this thread is very helpful to me for future reference as I live and work close to Canton, MA. :)

I agree as well.Give Chris Tsaparlis at Rover Peabody a call. Trustworthy and long time service advisor.

I assume you are looking at the LR4’s at DoneDealMotors in Canton MA. I would say don’t even bother, that dealership is shady. I had looked at those LR4’s but they all had their frames and suspension spray painted to cover rust, and other weird stuff. The sales kid I dealt with was obsessed with talking about financing even though I kept telling him I wasn’t financing.

You were right and I'd say the assessment is accurate. The pictures were very deceiving and the vehicle quality was among the worst of any dealership I've been to.
