Hi guys,

I am new in this forum and own a range rover sport hse 2010 which has just done 3,750kms. Generally happy with the car and love the ride compared to the x5 4.8l which I had for about a year. The main problem which i discovered recently is on the Steering wheel which starts to vibrate at certain speed and when I apply the brake - gets worse at higher speed. The tires are new and I have done balancing & alignment twice but the problem won't go away. Appreciate feedback. Thanks.

That typically indicates warped rotors, you can swap the rotors out yourself if you're handy, if not it'$ gonna cost you..

Either way, on a 2010 with your little mileage should be covered by factory warranty.

Hi, I have also just joined this forum. I have a 2000 P38 Vogue with exactly the same symptoms i.e. slight steering vibration and the vehicle shudders when braking from around 80kph. I have repalced all the front suspension rubbers, steering damper, ball joints. But the symptoms still persist. The wheels have been rebalanced and swopped (front to back). The brake discs and brake pads ( front and rear) have also been replaced but the problem still persists.

Would reallly appreciate any advice/guidance.

Regards

I have a 2010 LR4. I have had a steering wheel shimmy since day one. It only occurs at speeds more than 55 MPH, and is much worse when the car has just been started. It lessens as the car drives more. There is another member on the LR4 forum with the same issue. Ours does not seem to be effected by breaking to much. I have had the tires replaced and balanced multiple times and had steering system replaced. No difference.

hi Guys,

After countless trips to the workshop, LR flew somoene over to inspect my car and he was certain that the steering wheel shimmy & judder problems were caused by the goodyear tires which were subsequently replaced with michelin tires. The result....marked improvement with only slight steering wheel 'shudder' at certain speed and road conditions.
