We Have a 2011 HSE SuperSport
we had a brand new timing belt installed 14 months ago
yesterday they are suggesting a new one
this is just daily cruiser to n from work no hot rodding no rock crawling
i just dont understand

anyone ever had this happen
the invoice is saying another 6000

Moved to the RR section. How many miles in 14 months? Not that it should matter. Sounds like someone did something wrong.

Definitely should not happen. But if the first shop that did the work used junk parts that failed already and they are not willing to warranty their work....then you may be in a bad spot.

I'd get more opinions to make sure that's the issue. And certainly dont take it back to the first shop unless they will warranty it. You may want to ask the first shop if they replaced ALL of the tensioner and guides and the chain. If so, then get the second shop to verify it. Sometimes in effort to save a few dollars they will only change the tensioner/guide that's making the noise and then the other one goes out soon....no respectable shop should do that on a 6k job....but you never know, some shops take advantage of people.
