I like the wheel linked above the most (I think, but welcome comments). I am looking for something a little more rugged than bling. This lug pattern looks good...5x120mm is right on.
The 30 offset and the 6 backspace are the part that puzzles me. This tire/wheel blog says "Offset is 53P (approximately 165mm or 6.5″ +/-)"

The other wheels I am looking at are here...

The LR wheel is a 53 P (positive) offset. That's 53 mm from the centerline of the wheel to the mounting pad towards the roadside of the wheel (since it's a positive offset).

Backspace is dependent on the width of the wheel. They're saying that it's 6 inches from the mounting pad to the inside rim of the wheel.

So that means it won't fit, might fit with spacer, or the 165mm or 6.5" +/- means it might? I know you explained it, but i am still not wrapping my mind around it yet. Thank you!

Hey

I'm looking at some of the same wheels than you are (for my LR4).
I contacted wheel Pros and according to them it will fit. I'm waiting for an exact answer regarding spacers.

Check out the website. www.wheelpros.com

If it works I'll be getting custom drilled ones so I have the right hub bore and no hub centric ring.

Well you'd be going from a 6.5" backspace to a 6" backspace according to that wheels specs. So the inner rim will be a half inch further out (road side) than the original. Now these rims are also a half inch wider than the oem's. So it should stick out an additional inch in total (1/2" wider rim plus 1/2" less back space) on the outer rim. Does that make sense?

One thing I worry about with a setup like this is turning. If the wheel sticks out an additional inch and you make a turn, the wheel is going to push further forward and backwards into the wheel well. You may get some rubbing especially if you're going with bigger tires.

Maybe you should set your LR3 on a flat surface and turn the wheel all the way in one direction. Check to see what your wheel well clearance is and add the inch the rim would push it out and the height the tire would add. Just a thought.

I'm going to go through this process within the next couple of months as well. Nice wheel you have selected.

Make sure to check the weight ratings of the wheels if you put on a set of wheels that don't meet LR spec and something should happen that wouldn't be good.

Most people seem to fall back on the Compomotive rims. Their weight rating is 2,200lbs (1,000kg) and the rim actual weight is close to 29lbs (13kg) with an offset of 44 and width of 8".

Still haven't heard back from Wheel Pros (XD, ATX, etc)... It's starting to make me doubt the fact that they'll fit... I might get some Compomotive at this point.

4Wheel Parts wrote back...

"Thanks for asking. The 6 inch backspacing on the Black rock Wheels 910 Intruder in 18x8.5 and a 5x120 bolt pattern are really close to your factory 6.25 inch backspacing so they will fit."

Amazon has their compatibility check (like other sites). If Amazon is wrong, you could always send back and get all your money back, but what a pain.
