Engine code P0089 "fuel pressure regulator performance"

Did you get it resolved? I also had a Fuel tank recall service performed by a dealer on August 17th, and had this P0089-64 code pop up almost exactly a month later on September 19th "Fuel pressure regulator performance - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure" I cleared it...

    Windshield wind noise.

A-pillar clips are single use. Windshield guys know about this, but instead of replacing these clips they attach A-pillars with urethane... I never understood why are they being so cheap, but nevertheless here is what you'll need: 1. New clips...

    Showoff Your LR4

Nothing visual to showoff, but some real impressive towing capacity. The rig is around 7,000 pounds (~2200 Uhaul autotrasporter and ~4800 lbs Supercrew F-150). This trailer is definitely too small for Supercrew (I knew that), but doable (made it 120 mi). Used ramp boards as "extension" and...

    2013 LR4 - Weird Humming Noise

Has anyone confirmed if this damper is already installed on 8-speed 2014-2016 LR4? I have 2015 LR4 with 90k miles. Drivetrain kicking if I let the car roll in traffic (not pressing on gas or brakes and car is rolling slowly forward) and then pressing on gas (it doesn't engage smoothly, but...

    Heated windshields

You have to remove plastic "airbag" labeled bit, remove torx sxrew, remove trim and connectors are there, on both sides. My windshield heater cables were NOT connected when the windshield was replaced. I had to connect it myself. I don't know why these windshield guys are forgetting about those...

2016 LR4 Coolant Crossover, Water Pump, Thermostat Replacement

I didn't remove the bracket from the SC, but instead removed everything from that bracket (primarily plastic tree connectors to guide wires). I then had to (carefully!) maneuver SC to get it out since the bracket is in the way hitting hood/firewall. I don't thing I'd be able to do this without...

    Rear Coolant Leak

Coolant Crossover leaks is probably #1 problem with petrol LR4s, and were discussed many many times. What year is the car? If it's SCV6 you better read this entire thread, tons of useful info...

    B1163-15 code - heated mirrors

My side mirrors heaters did not work and both were throwing the same error because my windshield heater element was broken. After replacing the windshield, driver side mirror and windshield would defrost fine but the passenger side mirror still wouldn't work and throw the code. After popping...

2016 LR4 Coolant Crossover, Water Pump, Thermostat Replacement

Absolutely heck NO to liquid gaskets, this is not an oil pan in American or Japanese car... Be careful with supercharger rebuild... there are special tools (a bunch of carefully machined spacers and rods) required to get spacing of bearings right, and to remove and insert everything without...

Crazy I know but any 19" wheel suggestions?

I second this. If you already have 20s then you can fit Yokohama G015 (275-55-R20) - looks nice, great in snow, quiet on highway, good in mud too. Profile might be too small to do serious sand dune riding, but it all depends how deep you plan to go... You may find this thread helpful...

    DIY Roof rack

Super cool! Still puzzled how did you manage to make the cutouts using only a file, miter and circular saw... What is also nice is that you've saved on the roof rails too! I also made DIY roof rack, but I made it entirely from 1"x2" aluminum extrusion profiles, and mounted on roof rails using...

Back in Action! Seized Engine Replaced

Part numbers change all the time, and this might also be not a very common problem (or at least the problem that no one really cares about because how minor it is until this youtube video happens). Please find the shop manual for 2014-2016 LR4 SDV6 and SCV6 here...

Back in Action! Seized Engine Replaced

Check your serpentine belt (or belts if SCV6) idler pulleys, there are three on the primary belt (one on tensioner and two on the top between alternator and water pump) and they rattle making "diesel like" noises when worn that many confuse with timing chain noises. Takes ~5min to check (just...

    2011 LR4 New Owner Questions

First thing to check: - front and rear Crossover pipes (make sure to get latest design front pipe) - waterpump, thermostat - transmission oil and filter (cut away old pan snout, replace with good quality 2-piece pan, never save money on oil filter!) - check transfer case (if it seeps and run out...

    LR4 vacuum pump replacement info

2015 LR4 SCV6, 90k miles - old style vac pump and is leaking oil too. Not much, barely noticeable leak, so I decided to just leave it alone (being an ex subaru owner I always called such leaks "rust protection coating" here in new england)
