Window problem
I had the same problem with my 2001 DII.I ended up putting a small screw in the track to keep it from going down all the way down. There is a hole already in the track mechinisem that moves the window up and down. When you take the door panel off you can watch it as it goes down...
Droopy Rover
Tracy,
What did you find wrong with it?Since we aren't all retired service managers it's always good to know what the problem was and what was done to fix it.(sarc off)
Daryl
Sitting on the bump stops
It could be any number of things that control the rear air ride system.Fuse, bad air pump, hole in one of the air bags or a hole in one of the lines from the pump to the air bags.I had this problem several times and finally got tired of working on it and replaced the air...
axel seals
Check with Nathan at platinummotors.com or email him at [email protected] has always come thru for me.I don't like vehicles that remind me of old Harley motorcycles, work on them for two hours to ride them for one hour.
Tps
The TPS seems to be the logical culprit,I would change it.BTW there are no sweet Discos, some are born evil but most just get that way with age.Kinda like people.
rover purchase
I have one Rover in our family that I have to maintain (boo hiss boo ).IMO Rover should give their vehicles away for free if you maintain them because that's all I seem to be doing.I also have a '99 Grand Cherokee with 167k on the odometer with very little maintenance issues and...
I'm cold
Glad I could be of help to you. Can't be much help with the switch and Joey is right they are a pita.At least you can be warmer with the new thermostat.
Thanks
Thanks to all that replied to my post.It does seem to be more weather related than an issue to be resolved.Since it's my daughters Rover I might be able to talk her into getting rid of it or moving to a warmer climate so I don't have to here about the next problem of the week.LOL
disco mike
It appears to be a cold weather issue. It does drop evenly on both sides once it gets below 20*f.It seems to be fine if I park it in the garage. The D2 is used as an everyday driver and the LR3 will be used for the same.It belongs to my daughter and she has wanted a D2 ever since she...
i'm cold
I have to agree with Joey.A couple gal. of antifreeze and a new thermostat is the cheapest fix based on what you have said.If that fixes it I'm glad I could help.
The old girl sits on the bump stops in cold weather but airs up fine when started.01 d2,116k.Also looking to trade it for an LR3.Is this a good move or just a move to a different set of PITA problems? Thanks for any help.
i'm cold too
Widepud, does the engine get to normal operating temp?if it doesn't the thermostat could be stuck in the open position not allowing the coolant to get to operating temp.just a thought.
disco tires
My daughter replaced the tires on her 01 D2 about 15000 miles ago. They put a set of Geolanders on it and so far there are no issues with them and they haven't started to show signs of wear as yet.I don't know anything about the 109h numbers on the tires I haven't checked to see what...
had a similar problem
Had basically the same set of happenings with my daughters 01 Disco and the only thing that finally corrected it was a new crankshaft position sensor. It has been starting and running as well as a Disco II can run after it was replaced.Don't mean to be sarcastic but we have...
wont start
Mike, this is the second time that it has done this.It just clicks with the ignition key but wont turn over. The last time which was a couple of weeks ago it was a bad battery. It had some other things that needed to be fixed so it spent several days at the repair shop while we were on...
