2002 not starting with key
Sounds like the starter to me. If the starter has a dead spot in it you need to knock it with a wrench or something to move it just abit for it to start. We had to do this for a few weeks while waiting on a new starter. That said, there is a guy on island here that has an old Disco with Key...- debaser

Knocking from rear
Can you describe the noise a little better? When does it happen? ( what speeds, reverse?, when turning? etc.) And are you positive it's coming from the rear of the vehicle? Had a similar issue and drove around with 5 different mechanics 2 said it was coming from the rear axle, 2 said it...- debaser
