    Voltage drop and trouble starting

Yes it's a Denso, I called the customer service line of the store I bought it from and they told me that they have only had one returned because it was faulty in all the time they've been refurbishing them, but they offered to replace it free of charge so I'm going to go ahead and do that first...

    Voltage drop and trouble starting

No corrosion on the battery connections and the body mount seems to be ok. After reading about the starter motor in the workshop manual it seems hard to get to and I don't have any car jacks with me to get under the vehicle and get a good look at the starter so I guess I'll have to wait until...

    Voltage drop and trouble starting

I've been using a radar detector with a voltage readout for the last few years, I've always had a voltage +/- 14.5, a few weeks ago I noticed the voltage was dropping and climbing rapidly from 12.2 - 14.5 on a long drive, I then had trouble starting the car for the next few days. I read some of...

66k iles Yellow engine light on

I had the loose/missing gas cap warning several times last year which I ignored because it was intermittent, I then got a yellow engine light and took it to an Autozone and had them read the codes (which is free) and they told me it was an evap issue, a new $10 gas cap was the fix. You should...

    Laptop mount

Has anyone installed one of these mounts in their vehicle? I'm thinking about getting one to hold my 15" Macbook which I find is a little too big to fit in my lap when I'm parked. I spend 12 hours a day in my LR3 when I'm out on location in the oil fields of West Texas, so comfort is a must. My...

    Bottle Jack

The link you posted on the 4 ton shows it only has a 15 3/8" lift height, whereas the 6 ton shows a lift height of 19 1/8". My only concern with these jacks is that they might slip off the frame when lifting since they are flat on top.

    Bottle Jack

Do you have a manufacturer or model number? I'd be interested to know the maximum lift height of the jack you bought, I have seen some which go up to 19 inches and I'm wondering if this is enough lift to get the wheels off the ground.

    Bottle Jack

I'm looking to replace the standard jack in my LR3 with a bottle jack, has anyone done this and if so which model did you choose/does it work well etc... I've searched the forums and found some discussion on this but there doesn't seem to be any definitive answer on which bottle jack is the best...

    Washing LR Engine

After Just a bucket of water with some car shampoo and a few rags, took 15 minutes. I also used my air compressor to blow out dirt from the engine bay before I started, I work out in the oil fields in West Texas and the dust storms tend to keep the engine bay pretty dirty

    Almost Ready!!

What kind of paint did you use on the letters, did you sand them down first? I'm pretty interested in doing this myself as mine appear to be in a pretty similar condition as yours were before the repaint.

    Lowering suspension

I'm having a problem getting the my '05 HSE to lower, it will raise no problem when I select off road mode, however it will not lower or go into access mode. The only way to get the vehicle to lower back to normal height is to drive at 30-35 mph and get the vehicle to lower automatically. I took...

    whining sound for rear wheel

I had a similar problem a few months ago, only the whining was coming from the front passenger wheel. The whining wasn't constant with my wheel either, it was worst when accelerating or turning corners, they replaced both front hubs which fixed the problem.

    Wet Floors

It has to be a de-humidifier, I just borrowed one from a friend so it doesn't have to be specially made for a car, I ran the power cord out of the window and used a towel to seal the window as much as possible so the de-humidifier could get as much of the water out of the air as possible.

    Wet Floors

When I had the roof leak I dried the foam under the carpet by lifting up the carpet and propping it up with some wooden blocks, I then ran the heaters to blow on the footwells and ran a dehumidifier with the windows closed, I had to run it for 24 hours straight to dry it all up but my carpets...
