Not sure if this helps with model year change But... On the 96 Disco you can take pressure off the fuel line by depressing a plug similiar to a tire fill located high one the engine by the valve covers on the left if your looking at the engine.. make sure the engine is cold b4 starting or... -
small oil leak
Clean the engine of all oil..Then look for your leak. I have found that leaks can appear to come from many places as gravity works its magic and lets the oil drip down the entire motor, I had a problem with my rocker cover gaskets all I needed to was tighten down the cylinder heads... -

Glad you mentioned that... what kind/size socket do I need (and where can I purchase) to remove those screws.. Never seen anything like em.. closest I can find to describe them on the net is triple square... -

After more study it appears I am loosing the oil from the valve covers. How intense is a job like this for a limited experience, back yard mechanic with no lift? -

Been getting a growing oil leak around the oil pan. Is there a gasket for the engine sump or would I be OK using The Right Stuff gasket maker? Can the pan be removed easily to remove the old gasket? (will the axel or oil pump prevent me from removing pan?) Thanks, Neill 96 Disco... -

Found it.. Took longer to type the post than to trace the fuel line.. Filter is now in... Time to fire the old fella up and hope I don't burst into a ball of Flame.... Thanks again, Neill -

Can you be more specific as to where to find the valve? I think I'll go with that route.. Who much fuel can I expect to loose during this process? (the entire change out if the hoses aren't clamped?) Thanks, Neill -

Sounds like a good price when you consider the dealer wants almost 70... But then I guess it is a critical part making the vehicle unusable (unless you are willing to jump it and fool it) .. so they have you over a barrel.. Neill -

Ended up using a coat hanger, some surgical forceps and a lot of luck... It is now back in place.. -

glad I could finally help someone else... usually I'm on the other end receiving the information. Check the net for prices on the switch .. the dealer will charge an arm and a leg... the dealer also indicated they break fairly regularly so you should keep a spare in your glove box.. If only... -
