Considering 2008 LR2 HSE

Overheating problems
Sure- they can be defective and bind closed. Make sure you use a genuine Land Rover thermostat and not a Stant from Autozone. Also make sure you pay super close attention to the correct orientation of the thermostat in the housing. It's possible that yours was put in backwards -- I've seen that... -

Has Anyone Had An Exhaust Leak At Manifold??
Should be pretty easy to distinguish a lifter tick from a manifold leak. A manifold leak will get considerably louder under acceleration and can usually be heard inside the vehicle. A lifter tick will just tick away. My LR3 ticks a little bit (lifters) and it's audible from beside the right... -

How Do I Lubricate Wheel Centers??
Also make sure to apply anti-seize to the lug nut threads and tapers. Makes torquing them properly possible, and ensures an easier time of removal. Dave -
