I'm not sure if it's the same as my 03, I know they changed the lights somewhat, but on mine there's a large (3"-4" daimeter) plastic cap under the hood behind the headlight that twists off. Then you can get to the bulb socket to twist it and pull it out.
Aahhh, the fear of a tow truck can work wonders on many cars. Glad it started but you might want to see if someone can pull any codes from it to see why it wouldn't.
Aaahh the Jatco tranny issue... Here's a little insight. Yes these trannys have not had a good reputation but I think it's largely due to poor servicing and care on the owners part. People must also realize this is not a Ford, GM or Toyota. It's a European vehicle that needs particular service...
There are two timing belts, one in the front and one in back. (I assume you don't mean the ancillary belt) There's no motor moving involved but a lot of things to take apart. I haven't done this job but have read it's doable but no picnic. If one is that bad you should consider changing both...
I've read ALL of the bad stuff on a few different forums and it almost had me convinced I better off my 03 SE FL as soon as possible. But the truth is I've had very few problems with mine and still running smooth and strong at 52k. I've taken excellent care of it though and don't drive it like...
Sounds like the small intake motors I had replaced on mine. They also found a spark plug coil was bad. Don't know how much it would have costed. Got in right under the wire at about 49,600 miles. I wouldn't hook up the OBD without looking around the forums. The plug is for the Testbook system...
At 48k miles I finally had to put pads on the front of my '03 SE and rear pads still have plenty of meat left. I 've been reading about quick brake wear out since I bought this truck and watched them closely but that hasn't been my experience. I definitely don't drive conservatively but not like...
Hey folks, I gotta put a battery in my '03 SE today and was just wondering if I'll have any computer screw ups after disconnecting the old one. It hasn't ever gone completely dead and I know some cars after diconnecting the battery will start once then it needs to go to dealership. I haven't...
I may attemp this myself. Where did you put the temp probe? Where the level plug goes? Wish I had seen all this earlier myself. Just over 50k miles now. Haven't noticed any problems though and I've really had very little trouble in the four years I've had it.
I ran across this site today. Can't speak for how good it is but I think I'm gonna order tranny fluid from them ($7.05 qt) and see how that goes. Looks they got (or can get ) any part for LR if you know the part number.
