Different oil level readings with hood open

you're right. i didn't need to do it. i just did it to see if there was a difference in readings based on methods. per my previous post, i did the oil level reading per the owner's manual. then i turned the LR4 off, then back to the on mode (Start button pushed, no brake pedal...

Different oil level readings with hood open

2011 LR4 5.0 Rover sat on level ground for at least half an hour after driving. went out and checked the oil per the manual. read exactly at the halfway mark. then checked it via the bypass method. showed 0.5 quart low. i have not yet had the opportunity to run the test again.

    96 Disco Problems (w/fault codes)

your mechanic's advise is a good place to start. try some kingsborne 8mm wires and the cheap champion plugs. i wouldn't use the OE 7mm wires. when i went with those my fuel mileage actually dropped. i couldn't find the link i used to have to the obd2 codes or else i would have...

    Gary

i'll second calling Will Tillery. I've used him several times. Usually has the best prices and turn around time is usually very quick.

SES No Power, Fuel Filter and Door locks

Mike is right. Get the codes read. The flashing SES I can often mean misfires. This may be something as simple as new plugs and wires. I think most local autoparts stores will read the codes for free. Write down what codes come up and then get back to the forum.

    ultragauge

mostly just use it to read and reset codes. the ultragauge does this. it also does some real time read out on engine temp and what not. it's a fairly inexpensive scanner. i was just wondering if anyone had any feed back on how it worked. i'm planning on getting another car soon and this...

    Changing Fluids

While Mike's list is daunting it is also comprehensive. Tackle the easy, cheap stuff first. The diff's and the transmission are both easy if not a little messy. For the diff's spend the extra 10 or 15 dollars and get the hand pump for putting the fluid back in. A lot easier and a lot less...
