Gap tool saved the day. Deflated that strut and shock popped right in. Job is done....alignment in the morning. Wish I could do this one over...bet it would take 1/2 the time!
I have a gap tool....can it just depressurize one corner? I was originally thinking I had to let the air out of the entire system - depressurizing all 4 corners. I like the idea of only having one corner to bleed air out of.
OK....so I'm a dumba$$....let's get that out of the way first.
Truck is on jack stands - passenger front corner is disassembled.
I am replacing my front lower control arms (bushings shot) and I forgot to dump the air before I started working. Now I have it all back together except I can't get...
I just welded a small plate/patch over that area and rattle canned it to prevent rust. Can't speak to the frame "changes" but I highly doubt it would have any impact on stiffness or strength. Might have some impact on tire entering footwell in an offset crash but that is hypothetical at best...
I did the same...one mode at plus 10 and one at plus 20. I have only used plus 20 thus far but have a 4 hour road trip coming up that I was planning to try the plus 10 for. I had the exact same revelation... "those dudes on the forum were right!" lol
Plus, owning a GAP seems like a mandatory...
I'm getting ready to do that same. Got a vibration I can't seem to shake at about 55-65-ish. Been back to the shop for balancing twice. :( Might just put it back to stock and sell it....just acquired an Ultra4racing 4600 spec truck based on an '89 RRC which is far more fun :)
So just FYI in case anyone else is planning to really off road their rig - after this weekend, I am really glad I went the rattle can Steel-IT route. I ran Middle Fork of the St. Vrain trail outside Boulder. It is a pretty solid moderate trail. Had to really pick lines and stack rocks in 2...
yea....and after yesterday, I am thinking it is probably unnecessary. I ran a pretty rough trail yesterday and only once had an issue with it. I was hung up climbing on a rock and wheel spin put me over the limit. I just got a warning but no "automatic reset" to normal height. Spent 5 hours...
Searched to no avail.
Can the max speed of off road mode be altered?
I made 2 new modes last night - one is +10 and the other is +20. I'll use +10 for every day use and switch to +20 for trails. What I can't seem to find is a way to disable the max speed for off road mode.
Maybe I am...
If you did end up going the spacer route, I can't recommend Bulletproof Off Road Adapters highly enough. I just got a set from them and they are a serious work of art. Made to order in the USA. Tough to beat.
I would have preferred a wheel where spacers weren't needed but the price on a...
Finally got the wheels and tires swapped out last night. Ended up with the Kelver RTs and landed on 265/65/18. I really wanted to go bigger - and probably will - but got a great deal on these 265's so I figured I'd start here. It will be interesting to see how these Kenda's hold up. They are...
Agreed...I had this conversation last night. When it becomes time, I will have to take a serious look at the new Bronco. When I bought my LR4, it was really the only vehicle that checked all the boxes I needed checked. With the addition of the 2.7 ecoboost in the Bronco, that definitely puts...
just a little update....after shoulder surgery and being grounded from this damn virus crap, I finally got the ball rolling on the LR4. I almost bought a disco 2 to play with - mostly because I love this LR4 too much to cut into it but.....:)
BORA spacers were machined last week - should be...
