Do you get HD radio or just "regular" radio when tuned to a popular local AM or FM station with good reception? I don't know the interface of a 2010-2011s too well, but on 2012s+ the HD logo pops up prominently on the touchscreen (and you can hear the big difference in sound quality) when HD reception is occurring. If you do have HD radio, the Topix specs are correct and you may need your SDARS control module updated - the dealer can do that, for a fee of course - to "un-grey" the SAT button and get your sat radio back.

I get HD stations and all the data services that accompany the HD radio. I wonder if I can use the GAP IID I'm waiting on to 'activate' the sat service.

Resurrecting this dead thread in hopes of getting an answer to the above. Just bought a 2011 HSE LUX, according to Topix it has "HD Radio and SDARS" but the menu options have Sat greyed out, and it just says Radio on the menu. Any solution after a few years of thinking?

Did you ever get your SAT to work? My 2010 HSE LUX has the SAT greyed out as well.

I also cannot turn "ON" the HD radio. Its highlighted on OFF and won't let me push the "ON" button.

I ended up buying a new satellite receiver on ebay for like $50. Popped the old one out, put the new one in and it works fine. However Sirrius/XM thinks I have a 2012 RR Sport, not a 2011 LR4, but no harm, no foul.

The Sat receiver lives in the back section of the truck behind the 3rd row passenger side arm rest. Kind of a pain to access, but it's literally 3 screws and 2 plugs to get you back in business.

My only complaint is that the sat drops out about 10x more than any car I've had previously. Almost always around cell towers/microwave towers.

Hope that helps.

Awesome, Thanks! I'll have to try a new receiver. Did your HD radio work prior to changing out the SAT module?

I have a 2011 Lux that should have both HD radio and satellite radio. The HD works as designed but I have no Sat option on the source page. The vehicle does have the satellite radio module fitted, as found behind the right inside D post trim panel. I have even checked power and ground at the module which are good. If I disconnect the module the infotainment no longer works so I know it is at least powering up and not preventing the system from working. I have access to SDD and have tried to update the satellite module but it fails. I have not taken this any further as I do not listen to satellite radio and do not miss the feature. However it would be nice for it to work. Only thing I would try next would be to replace the module with a new one and program. Not sure when I would try this though.

Sorry this does not fix anyone’s issue but without a doubt you can have the feature as fitted from the factory appear to not be there at all.
