    Problems With the LR3

I've had my '05 HSE since new and now at 110k miles. I had one occasion recently where the relay for the tailgate started lock/unlocking rhythmically even though the gate was closed. I ended up checking the latches on either side and the lock itself, clearing out the accumulated dust/grease gunk...

LR3 When it rains it pours inside

Apologies if this is a repeat of other posts but here are a few things to consider. 1) sunroof drains need to be clear because they block pretty easily eventually - sounds like you've had those blown clear 2) the nipple a the end of the drain tubes need modification to make sure that they do...

    Cowl Trim replacement

I'm late to the party on this one but I too just had this replaced as part of an overall water ingress / sunroof drain fix update. Seems to be reasonably common issue as the vehicle ages. Mine is a 2005 LR3 HSE that has lived it's entire life with me in the Pacific NorthWET. My roof drain only...

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

If you only knew how many times I have to rotate those damn lights/covers ... :albertein Too many bugs on the front for a catalogue shot

    Suggested LR3 Mods??

I was thinking that I needed to take a break from the laptop when I started seeing those fuzzy images - now I'm relieved that it's not me but PhotoBucket. :hello:

Using your LR3 for sales calls

On the few occasions where I visit a local client and drive my own vehicle I just expense the mileage at the national rate. We use $0.55/mile regardless of vehicle, be that an LR3 or a Smart Car.

    I'm selling the Coiler

That's why friends don't let friends drive toy cars ... I had a similar experience when a Ford Escape rear ended my LR3 a while ago. Cost me a new rear bumper but the Escape needed a complete new front end.

    Suspension fault and flat tires

Did the fault go away after the new tyre was fitted? One thing to watch for is that the suspension sensor wiring is up inside the wheel arch (front at least) and could have been hit by the deflated tyre?

    OEM Brush Bar w/ Winch

The tyres are Nitto Grapplers 285/60/18. They don't rub at all in normal use. The only time I have had an issue is when reversing with full lock which is enough for the front driver side tyre to rub against the suspension sensor wiring harness and you can easily break this. I had to have the...

    OEM Brush Bar w/ Winch

They look likie RS Sliders. I have the same one's on my LR3. Here's another view of the winch/bars. RS Sliders (now replace the original LR side protection bars):

    Side Protection Tubes

Check out yourself: Rover Specialties. Adam at OffRoving is probably your man to chase up on RR/RRS availability. Nice folks to deal with.

    Side Protection Tubes

Here you go. Totally gnarly off road shot in the Starbucks parking lot. It's good to keep up the LR3 Chelsea Tractor appearances. (Brit's will understand that ...). Excuse the dirty wheels - new brakes and still breaking in. :hello:

    Side Protection Tubes

But I still think that you clean the bottom of your LR3 with a toothbrush ... The shots of your sliders and underside of your rig were obscenely clean!

    Side Protection Tubes

My sliders were fitted a couple of weeks ago and I can vouch for the fact that they are: 1) VERY heavy - I had them shipped directly to my techs. 2) VERY solid. 3) not quite as simple as the instructions would suggest to fit. They're hand made and so some 'adjustment' was required to fit them...

    Windshield wiper replacement...

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Btw - forget the LR dealer supplied blades and take a look at the RainX wipers. They made a huge difference on my LR3 up here in the Pacific NorthWET.

    Curious...

It might be worth also defining 'off road' too. I just had all mine done (yes, ALL of them) and now have a dramatically improved LR3 to the degree that it feels pretty much like the day I bought it new off the lot. Off roading? Unsurfaced forest trails, rocky roads, dry creak beds, miles &...

    Compressor Cover

I eventually got mine fitted too. I'm not sure whether I'm either hard of hearing or not because I don't hear a louder compressor sound with them on. Does Boaz have someone wash under that thing with a toothbrush? :bath:

    Stalling?

I would get the dealer to pull the codes as I'm sure whatever caused it would have left some footprint there. I'd be surprised if it was altitude - I often use my LR3 in the same locations as you mentioned and higher, although I'm not pulling dead weight it must be said. I'm sure we're all...

    power steering pump

It would seem to me that they're fixing a symptom temporarily and not the cause ... maybe the dealer techs need to look a bit further beyond the obvious?

Front lower control arm bushes worn? Video

That's exactly the experience I had with my '05 before doing a major overhaul of all bushings at 83k. I would also notice the clunking when climbing on to my driveway or even hitting a hole in the road at low speed. I didn't need to slam on the brakes - just a tap would invoke the loose clunk...

    Side Protection Tubes

I'm impressed that you managed to use the tubes as a step - I'm just imagining the conversion in the ER room if I'd tried that. I obviously lack your dexterity!

    Side Protection Tubes

I had them until recently and would agree that they provide a little bit of protection on the trail but nothing like that of a true set of sliders. I had the black ones which matched my nudge bar without looking like bling. I now have the RS Sliders which are significantly more robust and weight...

    Nudge Bar Opinion

A-frame: Those without one may not realize its coated in a dense foam. Tubular: I like my road kill dead, not just bruised and pissed off. (just kidding)
  24. GrahamWelland

    Nudge Bar Opinion

I agree - that's why there's choice. The A-frame I originally had did look more integrated and hi-tech and was a better match stylistically with the rest of the LR3 trim. The tubular setup has a different appeal but ultimately they both do the same job. Heck, some people love the agricultural...
