I am not 100% sure, but I read somewhere online that you are not supposed to "borrow" latch hooks from adjacent seats (so you're right, the middle seat in the LR4 does not have latch, and it would not be safe to use the outboard latch hooks to install a carseat in that center location)... -

Yes, the middle seat does fold down. One of the things I liked about the 2nd row in this car is that the seats are a 35/30/35 setup. Since I typically have the two carseats positioned in the outboard positions, I liked that he 3rd row could be accessed by folding down the middle seat. I haven't... -
