Yikes! No brakes!
Hi Don What led me to this was the difficulty I had in moving the pistons back into the caliper while replacing a set of pads - there was enough evidence of binding to warrant changing out the caliper - not sure why it fixed the intermittent "no brake" problem, but my guess is that if it was... -

Yikes! No brakes!
I also had the same issue with my '97 - it would come and go and scare the beejesus out of me. No leaks, no other symptoms. The final fix? I replaced the right front caliper and the issue quit - this was about 2 years ago. I suspect it was the source of some air entrainment, but nothing confirmed. -
