Rover Bull, I think it makes a heckuva lotta sense to replace that switch. Can you make a recording of the noise from the front right. There is a valve body there under the splash shield. RoverBull, is the noise you're referring to the compressor? Sometimes sounds can be referred throughout the vehicle. Stick your head under the drivers side (LHD) and see if you hear a humming. That's where the compressor is located. It's absolutely possible that it's running but not pumping...- RovinGreenville

Interestingly enough, I've cleaned the Throttle Body as it was stumbling under hard braking. It was pretty badly varnished. That fixed my idle issue.
