Agreed if you need/want the extra power, but as I said above it's more than enough for everyday use. I certainly didn't buy it for the gas mileage :). After being familiar with my previous V6 LR3 and no major issues after 280k km, I was comfortable with another one.
It's essentially a Ford V6...
I am the last guy to have any real knowledge other than reading a lot of forums. Similar (not same) issues I had ended up being an electrical issue with the wire bundle in the front passenger door step. Was filled with water and caused a short.
Everyone seems to think the IID Tool from GAP...
This is just the beginning of having kids costing you a lot of money. Worth it though!
I recently had my LR3 brakes done, all four corners (pads and disks) for about $1300 Canadian at an independent. Not in Alberta so I can't help you out on referral to a mechanic there.
Just bought a 2007 LR3 V6 with about 71k and very well looked after so would be interested in a few modern conveniences as well. On your list the Bluetooth capability and a backup cam/carplay would be great.
I recently found this for Bluetooth and will order one if they are still producing it...
Thank you bbyer. Well I went to drive it and it drove very solid....nothing noticable including no shimmy or shakes at highway speeds. Interior is in better shape than mine as assumed with the lower mileage. Paint looked good except for a mark above windshield.
But...the a/c did not work, which...
Currenly have an 06 LR3 4.0 with (270,000 km) 170,000 miles. It has been a great truck and have recently repaired an issue with a water leak that caused a short (lowering, fault lihgts ets.). Did not spend much on that as it was only labour so I don't have alot of money into in the past couple...
This was the problem with my recent fix (see thread). I finally took it a land rover specialist and they diagnosed the circuit and fixed it in a beer 3 hours. No parts required. It was the brake switch circuit that was shorted in my case.
Just had this repaired this week. Culprit was a corroded connestion under the passenger side door sill casued by a water leak. Head on over to this thread to get the details.

Decided to give it one last shot and took it to Westminster Motors in Toronto to see if they could get me back running. They were able to fix me up within a couple hours and I was one happy camper. Turns out it was the same as Cbn's resolution above. Water leak (undetermined what from at this...
Thanks CBN. I definitely have a leak somewhere as the carpet is wet after a rain. How did you find the bad connection? I ask because there is a HUGE bundle of wires under the door sill.
OK, so after looking at what it takes to replace these sensors...and not knowing which one(s) might be the culprit, I am taking it to a Rover specialist next week. They will do a scan and see if they can find the culprit before I finally need to walk away from this truck.
I did shop around a...
Thank you Steve. You've convinced me to have a look at the sensors. I will google it but if you have a link with pictures or videos showing the install process, I would like to see if it's a DIY for me.
Thanks Ken2006 for the suggestions. This thing is getting a little more complicated than I want to delve into myself.
I took off the trim under the door frame and it was filled with water as you mentioned. Checked the sunroof drain and it seems to be working OK. After removing the vent and...
2006 LR3 V6 with 167,000 miles.
Last week driving in heavy rain, I got the dreaded Christmas tree of lights on the dash and the suspension lowered. Still had an hour drive home so I pulled off and had a coffee hoping it would just "go away".
Since then, it seems to start out OK each morning...
Have not listened to the video yet, but could it be the power steering pump? We had a Ford with the 4L engine that made a loud whine and the fluid was just low. We are getting a similar whine from our LR3 now.
Hi all,
I have a 2006 LR3 SE V6. The reverse lights are not working. Last time I had it at my mechanic, he called the LR dealership to ask a few questions. He was told the switch was inside the transmission so it was not likely worth pursuing unless I really wanted it fixed. I assume that means...
Just bought a used 2006 LR3 a month ago (90k miles). Exterior and interior are in great shape. Took it to a Rover specialist before buying and he outlined everything that needed doing based on his inspection (control arms, brakes, etc.). I based my purchase price on what needed to be done so...
