    where to find wiring parts???

The drivers side front clearance light needs a new pigtail. I also need one in the drivers side headlight, the pigtail that holds the "small bulb". I checked with Nathan at discount british and he says for some strange reason the price for these is astronomically high, like in the $60 to $70...

    Rubbing with bigger tires

Yep, I figured those tires would work pretty good in sand. We don't have alot of that around here.

    headlight washers

Yep, tried them with lights on as your supposed to. However, I didn't know anything about a second attempt.

    Tiires

I love to use the BF Goodrich A/T on my family vehicles that see little off-roading. Great on the road and quite adequate in dry off-road conditions. Not so hot in mud, they pack up too easily and don't clean out the treads well.

    Rubbing with bigger tires

When I bought my Disco it came with 275/70R16 Bridgestone Dueulers. Way too big of a tire for a stock Disco. I am very aware of the rub and take it very easy in the bumpy stuff. I found these tires do not work very well in snowy conditions so I hope your in a non-snowy climate. Several times...

hard clunk when shifting into reverse

Thanks lowwill. I was experimenting yesterday with the shifter and found that the clunk was most prominent when I was in a hurry and was quickly shifting into reverse. If I took a second or two and/or used neutral breifly by releasing the brakes that the trans shifted quite smoothly and there...

hard clunk when shifting into reverse

Like the title of the thread says, I'm am getting a solid clunk noise (one I can feel through the vehicle) when I shift the automatic into reverse. It usually doesn't do this when shifting from park to reverse, but it does do it when shifting from drive to reverse. Is this a cause for worry or...

    headlight washers

I'm not getting any fluid to my headlight washers. Could this simply be a pump issue, or could there be something else causing the problem? All the lines are connected.

    Need some parts

Discount British Parts isn't returning my email requests for some parts I'm looking for. I need to find some other suppliers to help me out. I am in need of some studs and nuts that connect the y-pipe to my exhaust manifolds on my 96' Disco with the 4.0L engine. Who else is out there that can...

    Clunking sound now fixed

I had a mystery clunk sound that happened whenever I hit a bump or turned to the left, but not always to the right. It was getting progressively worse. I finally had enough and discovered that it was the bolt that connects the sway bar to the sway bar link. The bolt was becoming rounded out...

Engine VERY difficult to restart after warmed up

I did a Seafoam treatment on the weekend and then took it for a good drive later in the evening. Seems to run nice and is smoother all the way around. Tested the next morning to see if it would sputter and it didn't. I will have to try it a few more times (the sputter test) to see if it is...

    interior trim question

Yes......I know it's lame to be asking questions about trim and stuff but this one has been bugging me for awhile and I would like to get it fixed. When I bought the vehicle, the control panels for the drivers and passenger power seats where hanging out of the consul box by just the wires...

Engine VERY difficult to restart after warmed up

Well it's been awhile since I've visited the forum. But I said I would tell about how the fuel temp sensor worked once installed. Since I have put it in, it seems to have worked a little bit. The vehicle will start up and run fine when cold or hot. But at the lukewarm stage, it still sputters a...

Engine VERY difficult to restart after warmed up

Yep, mine is having a very similar problem. It is fine when it is cold and fine when it is warm. But very hard to start at a half way temp. Have to floor the pedal to start it and then let it sputter or rev it up till it idles fine and then i drive. Only lasts a few seconds but it is annoying. I...

    Leaking coolant

Well.....I finally was able to replace the water pump this weekend. The new one is on and there is no more leaks! I took a look at the old pump and found that it was leaking fluid from the vent hole that vents the bearing. That means the bearing and seal were being compromised and the fluid was...

Regular maintenance... what have I forgotten?

You might want to inspect the wheel bearings and races for wear. If no wear, it's always good to put fresh grease in there periodically anyways.

    Want a Defender 110 or 130 diesel

I'm from B.C., Canada. There is a fellow (He is British) here who deals in older Rovers. He has a Rover wrecking yard, so to speak. He has plenty of x-military Rovers with diesel engines. The British have military bases here in Canada and I believe that's where he is getting them. He also has...

    Leaking coolant

Yipee fun!!!! Why do vehicles always break in winter? My shop has another vehicle in it that is totally incapacitated, so I have to work on the Disco out in the elements. And we've had over a foot and a half of snow the last few days! This is going to be great. Ya , I had a water pump go on an...

    Leaking coolant

I peered in at the water pump from over the rad this afternoon and this is what I saw: right above where the lower rad hose slips on, there seems to be a bit of a flat spot there on the pump. Some fluid was pooling there. I wiped it off best I could (hard to get the hand down there) and started...
