    tires for LR4

    I've been running Nokian WR G4's. I couldnt be happier. Live in Chicago and they are a beast in the snow. A nice soft ride over the poor pothole streets here. Very smooth and quiet on the highway. I've never been off road but for around town, highway, and snow they are amazing.

    Good point about the G3 I probably should have said G4 Would the G4 perform better in winter with no snow than the Hakka? Or is the Hakka a better overall winter tire regardless of snow

    True about the potholes. They are brutal. I find the factory 255 55 19's are enough to handle them. I may stick with this size for the winter and use 20" in the summer (if of course I decide to use a dedicated winter tire).

    Stock LR4 and 275 55 20s - the results!!

    Great post ! Thanks for the info. Im looking to do exactly the same on my 2013 LR4. Ive been looking into oem LR/RR wheels and wondering what the ideal size would be. I found a nice set of 275 40 20 but you think 40 isnt enough side wall especially given the crappy streets here in Chicago.
