Anyone end up buying their Grenadier order

Nope, unfortunately they do not. The 2nd row folds down in half and then they can tumble forward against the backs of the front seats but they don't drop down flat like in our LR4s.

I'm second in line at a local Lexus dealership for an Overtrail GX550. Just got word that there are 8 GX550s on the way to the dealership and 2 are Overtrails. They're both white which isn't my first choice but, one way or another, I'll have a GX550 soon.

    Long Roof Rails

Original extended/long roof rails and the Thule crossbars. This stuff is just sitting in my garage in Scottsdale, AZ and taking up space. Would sell it in person for an amazingly cheap price. Will ship for a bit higher price, but still cheap!

I have a set of OEM extended/long roof rails for sale as well as a pair of locking Thule Aeroblade cross bars. Here are some photos showing the OEM roof setup with the OEM extended rails.

    2015 LR4 SCV6 Gas Mileage

****, under $4/gallon? I'm driving to Memphis to fill up from now on!

    2015 LR4 SCV6 Gas Mileage

Nope, Costco is 2.2 miles from my house. I drive all over Phoenix for work and I frequently find myself low on fuel and will drop a couple gallons in to get me back across town to Costco. Six bucks is six bucks.

    2015 LR4 SCV6 Gas Mileage

Fuel tank is reported at 22.8 gallons. I was showing about 5 miles till empty yesterday and I pumped 2 gallons in (at $5.10/gallon) just to get me across town to Costco where gas is $4.80/gallon. I put 19.8 gallons in at Costco so I must have still had a gallon left when I was near-zero on the...

    ftillier's maintenance history

I don't understand why other manufacturers don't make their seats fold flat. The LR4 is pure genius in this respect. You have a giant, absolutely flat cargo area with seating for 5 completely hidden. If my LR4 wasn't so repair intensive and I planned on keeping it forever, I'd remove the 3rd...

    ftillier's maintenance history

Of course the longevity is key. My truck's first mile driven off the lot was $65k per mile. My 2004 D2 expenses evened out - even after a replacement engine - over a nice, long 12 years of ownership.

    ftillier's maintenance history

I agree. My old 2004 D2 served me well from when I bought it in April 2008 with 49,800 miles on it until I dumped it for parts in September 2020 with 182,800 miles. When you factor in everything I dumped into it (maintenance, repair, and all the extras like roof rack, bumpers, winch, skid...

    2015 LR4 SCV6 Gas Mileage

The fuel tank on these trucks is a joke. I spend more time at my local Costco gas station than I do with my children.

    maintenance history since new 2013

Local independent shop. Between my 2004 D2 that I retired at 170k miles with a second bad engine and this LR4 with 123k miles, I've given this shop about $55k since 2009. Once I finally retire from Land Rovers I think they have to get me a gold watch.

Nope, timing chains are just fine. I've replaced just about everything else though. Rear air shocks are still original.

    maintenance history since new 2013

Damn, I took old Boom Boom in for an oil change at 123,157 miles on the clock and 5,008 miles since his last oil change. Had an appointment for Thursday. On Wednesday I thought, "So nice to just take him in for an oil change and not a repair." Then, of course, I get a suspension fault...

    CFE with Lights

I still have an old pair of Hella 4000s that I had on my D2 that I thought about putting on my LR4 but I kind of like the clean look - and all that air going into the radiator.

    2016 LR4 Landmark SCV6 Engine Failure at 65k. WWYD?

Light it on fire and roll it into the dealer's sales floor.

Another deciding factor for me was the stupid BMW shift knob, handle, whatever you call it. The fact that they would launch their vehicle with such an obvious cop out on this part instead of designing something unique makes me wonder what else in that thing is rebadged and upcharged crap.

At Long Last... Modern head unit!

3 different, used, OEM units from salvage companies. First one turned out to be from a LR2 (a bit shady...advertised wrongly), the second was from a 2012 LR4, and the third was from an exact match 2013 LR4 with LUX package. I also bought and installed the 2013's nav unit (the screen unit) and...

At Long Last... Modern head unit!

I am in the same boat, more or less. I have fault codes telling me that there is a break in the MOST fiber optic ring. Everything in the audio/infotainment system cycles on & off every 5 to 10 seconds like it is constantly re-booting. It's been to the dealer twice with a quote to fix of...

Anyone end up buying their Grenadier order

I took back my deposit after they announced pricing a while back. Just too much for the mish-mash of components and what you are getting overall, in my opinion. The gas mileage was a deciding factor too. As was the not-flat rear cargo compartment. I just don't understand why anyone would...

Totally agree - a 20 psi difference is a game changer on the miles of washboards up to Crown King!

    pizza cutters...General Grabber ATx

Airing down to a psi in the low 20s from high 30s or 40s makes plenty of difference and gives plenty of benefit. In addition to increased traction, it just plain makes the ride more comfortable. If you're stuck in deep sand or gravel or trying to crawl over rock obstacles, then airing down all...

Like I mentioned, I was surprised to see my exact same tire, exact size, offered in XL rating. Obviously that's not intended as a "passenger car" tire. When I get some time on my hands I'll dig deeper into the actual construction of my tire in E vs. XL. I have to get mine rotated so I'll talk...
