oh i also noticed that someone suggested sticking exhaust valves if that is the case the only thing that will fix that is a valve job, seafoam is useless...it works good on intake valves as it cleans them in its liquid state however as soon as the fuel is ignited the sea foam turns to a gas thus... -

yea i know bro i couldnt believe i was so ticked off, not saying that the disco isnt benifiting from all the other new parts on it, it just got really expensive...i replaced plugs, wires, coil packs, cats, o2 sensors, timing belt, pulled the heads and replaced the valves and head gaskets....only... -

hey man i was having this same problem for the longest time. try this, check all your exhaust gaskets on the manifolds and y pipe. If there is even the smallest leak it will send a false reading to your 02 sensors saying your running lean and your GEMS ecu will try richening things up on its own... -

I actually just got the disco about a month ago and the guy i bought it from told me that he recently replaced them...however if they are bad wouldnt it throw a code for them as well? -

I just replaced the wires like 2 wks ago, also this morning i flushed out the motor and ran a can of seafoam through the intake vaccum line and replaced the fuel filter and ran a can of lucas injector cleaner in the gas tank. Its still misfiring, however on a good note i had an oil leak at the... -

Hello all, im still in the process if fixing the misfire that throwing the code P1316. Everywhere ive read says the ignition system. I replaced the plugs with champions and the wires, tested the coilpacks and still misfiring. After doing to more research, i found another defintion for P1316... -

thanks a lot, however i do understand that it might run better,but would that cause i misfire. If that doesnt fix the problem, where do you think i should go next, i thought about flushing the motor out, to get rid of the carbon on the exhaust valves, any other suggestions -

yes I have cleaned the MAS and the stepper motor, I guess I will try out the cheap champion plugs, and just curious why is it not recommended to run platinum plugs? -

Sorry should have been more specific, im getting P1316. The engine performance and gas milage is in the crapper. I pulled a coil pack from a buddys disco 1 that runs fine and it didnt make a difference so I know its good, I also pulled every injector lead to see if one wouldnt effect how it ran... -

Hello all, Im in a bit of a bind. I have a 97' Disco with 97k on it and its having some misfiring problems. I searched the threads and they all tell me plugs and wires. I changed both out, tested the coilpacks and the injectors, all working fine. I do have a small exhaust leak from the manifold... -
New to the rover world, hello everyone
Hey everybody I just bought my first Disco 1 and i got a great deal on it. Its a 97 with only 90k miles in immaculate shape and i only paid $2750. So like everyone else when they buy a rover im in a endless search for aftermarket parts, so if anyone has good sites to check out let me know thanks- chase6616
