99 disco 1 radio help, not code

New here,

The radio in my 99 Disco 1 is giving me trouble. I can only pick up one or two local stations. Anything further than 20 miles away, I can't pick up, and no AM stations what so ever. It seems to me that my tuner is bad, but not sure. I have pulled it and reset it a few times but nothing seems to change. All local a stereo companies are no help, they can't give me any answers. I've also checked the antennas in the rear side windows and they don't seem to have any scratches in them. Why can I pick up two local stations but nothing else? Help please.

Sounds to me like the antenna wire is broken somewhere between the radio and the antenna in the window.

My suggestion would be to just add an aftermarket antenna either on the front fender or in the rear of the vehicle.

Run the cable to the radio.
