Does a loss of coolant with no physical evidence of the loss definitely mean a blown head gasket or cracked block/cylinder? I'm up for the timing belt to be changed and I'm wondering if I'd be better off dumping my Hippo now before it gets ugly, or doing the change and extending the warranty. Any thoughts?

If you plan to keep it... extend the warranty. Other wise sadly as a Land Rover fan, and enthusiast. I would say sell it fast so you don't have to buy a new engine.
