Hi to all,

I have 1998 Discovery for over 2 years now. I did not have any problems with mine but my coworker who bought 1998 Range Rover is having lots of problem. So I decided to join Rover World to learn about Land Rover. Since I have been here in the States longer than he is, my English is little better anyway.
My other cars are BMW E9, E30 and Mercedes W124. This is my first British car.

My coworker just called me this morning and told me that his car would not start and "Gearbox fault" is showing in his dash. I told him to put in different gear and put it back to Park and try starting but .... nope. Does anyone know what is wrong with it?

Tell your co-worker his battery needs to be replaced. Trust me on this, I have heard this same issue at least a dozen times.

Thanks Joey, I will let him know.
He spent over $2000 few months ago for major maintenance and brakes. And he just had his first baby last month.
He will be very happy if this problem goes away with fresh battery.
