Ringing when my door is open, or press the shift release

Now i love this truck but its driving me nuts! A friend of mine told me once "land rovers are the divas of the SUV world." boy was he right. So I have been making small repairs as the time goes and today i was wiring a car stereo and forsome reason now when i open the door there is a ringing noise like when you leave the keys in the ignition but its a solid beep. then when i press the shifter release it goes off again until i complete the gear change. any ideas? i'm stumped. luckly it doesnt stay on while driving so i'm not too worried about it but its still a pain in. any help or ideas are helpful.

Not sure what wires got crossed when you were working on the stereo... remember Rovers have a lot of items in common and tend to put several things together that you would not normally think belong together.
