wobbly front end

I have a 99 Range 4.0. When I hit bumps on the road or highway occasionaly my front end vibrates up through the steering wheel. It did this before and after I converted to coil springs. While I was working under the vehicle I cheked around for anything loose or worn but found nothing that seemed out of sorts. The vibration starts with the wheels then works it's way up till it rattles the steering column. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? Thanks
