Well my quest to enable my digital speedo finally ended in success thanks to the IID Tool. Before ordering the tool, I had tried to get the dealer to enable it, and while they were very willing, they eventually told me that their factory service tools didn't have that capability. I still would like to find out LR's rationale for disabling the function for this market, but I doubt we'll ever know for sure.

Given that I doubt I'll use the tool for anything else, I'm not sure whether to sell it, or possibly start a program for other LR4 owners to enable their speedos, where I would send the owner the tool and walk them through the process and then they would send it back. Do you guys think there would be many people interested in doing this for say $150 or something? We would have to buy another license for each user, which is around $90, and then shipping would be a few bucks so I figure $150 is the bare minimum at which it would make any sense. Thoughts?

Keep it... You never know when you may need that wonderful little box, especially if you plan on keeping your vehicle after the warranty is up. Plus, with the next software update you may be able to enable more nifty features that the factory left out of NAS builds, such as "global windows close" with the remote (you can only open all windows remotely in the US, not close them.)

I believe the IID tool was registered solely to the specific VIN of your truck. Could be wrong, but vaguely remember that as part of the registration process.

My understanding is that there is no limit on additional licenses.

Red, where did your purchase your IID Tool from? Just picked up a 2013 LR4 and it seems like this will be a handy tool to have...

other than how you control the thing, is the bluetooth one able to do anything more? In the future is the BT one going to get more features than the non?

I want to get one, i just think its very expensive. Saving 120 would be nice.
