AWESOME! (I believe it is Corris Grey with the Black Package.) Very nice. We'll let you keep it clean for at most one week. ;-)

Frustration is over! hehe

Yep it's Corris Grey, agreed that it resembles Nara Bronze when the sun hits it right though.

HSE, Heavy Duty, Vision Assist, Climate Control, 825W Sat radio and it rocks!
Been driving it as much as I can this weekend and it's still not enough, need more time in the day to go over the manual and play around with it.

There's an off road park nearby in Hollister so eventually, when I'm ready, I'll join up with NCLR (I believe Finlay is a member) and head on down.

Will get more pics once I get into a worthy environment.

Congratulations! The new LR4 looks beautiful. I am a member of the NCLR and look forward to welcoming you to events. Are you free the first Saturday in September? If so, please consider joining us down at Hollister SVRA. I can meet you in San Jose and drive down together (caravan). Even with your stock tires, you will be fine! I will be sure to keep you on easy and fun trails with no chance of damage. It would be a great time to try out the various off-road modes and techniques in a place I know very well.

Let me know and we can plan. In addition, LR San Jose is hosting an owners appreciation day at LR Experience Driving School in Carmel on September 13th. I got an invitation and going to attend. Since you got your LR4 from LR San Jose ask your sales man if you are interested, there are still a few spaces open.

Keep me posted!

Gorgeous color. And you get two colors for the price of one!

If there is any chance you can get out with David, jump on it. There is nothing like doing some off road - even the easier stuff - with someone who knows what they are doing. Since they know the vehicle they can take you through places that you might not otherwise have tried. It is a huge confidence boost to know that it can be done - especially when they go first. And, should you need to be spotted through a section (sounds like that's not necessary this time) then it really helps to have a good spotter. If I lived in NoCal I would be all over this.

I think most of it would be an easy swap. The biggest issue is going to be dealing with the wiring. The new headlight LED strips are always on, where there is no functionality on pre-2014 models for that. It would take some wire work for sure.

Speaking of insurance and loss, the same issue plagues all car buyers...the minute you drive off the lot the vehicle depreciates. Actually it starts depreciating the minute the pen finishes signing your name as it then becomes a used vehicle as far as all records are concerned.

There seems to be some misconception on GAP insurance. GAP is designed to cover the difference between what you owe on the vehicle and the actual cash value, or what the insurance company will pay at the time of a total loss. Two issues arise here for the new owner.

1. There has to be a total loss for the GAP insurance to kick in. A partial, repairable loss will not trigger the GAP coverage, as you will receive the vehicle back in driveable, repaired condition, as close to what it was before the accident as possible.
2. GAP only pays the bank in case of total loss. It is an insurance policy to cover the gap between what you owe and what the vehicle is worth to the bank at the time of loss. The amount GAP coverage pays decreases as the car age increases and your loan amount drops. It cannot be purchased if you pay for the vehicle cash 100% up front.

Sometimes GAP can be an excepllent choice, especially if you are getting a 100% no money down loan on a new car, as many of the dealers are offering today. That way if you only make one payment on a 40K car and total the vehicle, and it's value is 5K in salvage, GAP will cover the difference betweeen what your insurance will pay and the 40K owed. Pretty sweet deal in that scenario.

As an accident investigator I've seen cars wiped out with zero insurance and people crying at the side of the road, not from injury but from the thought of paying for this 75K BMW or whatever. They get SR-22's and make one insurance payment and then cancel, thinking they are smart. Then comes the Homer Simpson moment! DOOHH!

Hey David, I'll keep you posted about 8/6, thanks for the offer.
You may recall I had to workaround LR's "locals' only" policy and ended up purchasing from LR of Sac (which they kindly delivered to me) so I'm not sure LR of SJ would extend an "owners appreciation" to me :)

Oh yea, funny thing is the sales mgr asked me again if I decided on lojack, I said I was going to still decline it and he said "we accidentally already installed it so it's yours for free."
