Dangly bits

OK, I was looking under the chassis near the exhaust tips, and found these strange, heavy cast bits that seem to swing around right near the exhaust.

What the heck are they?

harmonic balancer things. Keep the body from feeling sway from the body mounts moving around.

Interesting. They don't seem massive enough to do that, but do seem like they'll clank nicely on hard trails.

They’re from the optional eco friendly dead weight package.

They cancel deep frequency vibration in the frame. I’ve heard that rear passengers have become quite nauseous on longer trips in vehicles that have those removed.

They should have significant rubber on the mounts, mine don’t make any noise.

They don't make any noise, even with my rear steal bumper they never clank on it.
