LR Driving School

New Tires
Tires I replaced the Conties at about 80,000Km with Michelin Latitude Tour HP. Really like them much better than the Conties. I use the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5's for winter and they are a great winter tire, but a little loud on the highway. Current mileage is around 106000KM. -
Looking for Tires
I am on my third winter with the Nokian Hakkapaliti 5 and I must say they are the bomb. The wear indicator says they are barely half way to needing replacement, so they are wearing quite well. The traction control system is redundant with these tires. I only get TCS lights and sounds if I try... -
Acceleration/braking problems anyone?
I now have over 60,000KM on my LR4, and the brakes are still fine. My dealer told me there was a bulletin out for the brake issue, that my vehicle was not affected so no action was needed. Who knows? -

Short mud run then SQUEEAAAL
I had a squeal after my time in the black goo last summer. It lasted for 50 kms or so. I think it was a pice of wood. When I changed to the snow tires I had a look and there was no scoring on the brake rotor surface, so I think it is more of an annoyance than a problem. -

My 2010LR4 came with Continentals, and yes I found them to be poor in snow. I also find most every "all season" tire I have ever had on ANY vehicle to perform poorly on snow. -
