    Yet another AT tire ?

I did not mean to insinuate support for carbon offsetting, I drive a land rover I clearly don't care about my carbon footprint. I was just saying that all companies have gimmics to improve their pr, but all it is is advertising. Every tire company donates large dollars to car clubs and racing...

    HDC-what noises do you experience?

I am new to the LR3, and when I use the HDC, it sounds like the abs motor is having a heart-attack! Is this normal? - The owners manual said it might make some noise, but I was not expecting it to be so loud.

    Limited Budget..What to get first?

nwoods-thanks, the BP one does look pretty nice.. One other off-road necessity (especially if you live in CA)- Fire Extinguisher! Very important tool. I was fording some water in my friends jeep when an electrical fire broke out (his fault for doing a poor stereo system install), would have...

    Yet another AT tire ?

While the BFG does have one more ply in the sidewall, the AT2 has 'more' plys in the tread area. The BFG has 3ply poly and twin steel belts(5 total), while the AT2 has 2ply nylon, 2ply poly and twin steel belts(6 total)-some sizes do not have the additional 2ply nylon, but the 285/60-18 does...

    Yet another AT tire ?

The 285/60 General AT2 is E-Load/10-ply rated just like the BFG, although the BFGs have a 3ply sidewall vs the 2 ply AT2. They both have the Severe Snow Service. The General's can be studded, have a 60,000 mile warranty, and are nearly $100 cheaper per tire. The BFG has a much higher speed...

    This takes balls of steel

For a while I thought the guy was driving AND filming, before I remembered Brits drive on the right. Definitely steel balls, or maybe no brain! it's hard to tell some times I got seriously jealous over the nice purr of the diesel engine us Americans will never have.

Do you carry a weapon in your truck?

I have many historical rifles/pistols that will get buried before they are taken away...... but in my LR3 I carry a .357, although I would much prefer to have a .44 in bear country.

    Limited Budget..What to get first?

So I went and got my new tires put on and then applied a fresh coat of mud, now it looks like a Land Rover! So it's time to save up for my next item (and the wife keeps wanting to spend money on practical things like groceries....what a loser!). Next I am definitely looking for some...

any detailed instructions for changing oil & filter

With most manufactures (i'm not positive land rover does this) they put additives in the oil to aid with break-in, therefore you should not change the oil too early. The filter would collect anything large enough to cause damage to the engine. I agree that waiting to 7500 sounds like too much...

    Front Windshield Update

I would have thought it would be well over $1000, good to know as mine has a crack.....

    Limited Budget..What to get first?

I am kind of on the same lines. Winch is last, I already have a hand winch, and rock sliders just before the winch. As far as the under bumper plates go, does anybody know if they interfere with an ARB bumper?

    Limited Budget..What to get first?

Just picked up an 05 LR3 SE a few weeks ago, and want to rig it for some serious off-roading. The previous owner (soccer mom) put on some street tires (Toyo proxes s/t) which handled some light mud okay, but did pretty bad in some ice/snow. I live in western washington so I will mostly see...
