HDC-what noises do you experience?

I am new to the LR3, and when I use the HDC, it sounds like the abs motor is having a heart-attack! Is this normal? - The owners manual said it might make some noise, but I was not expecting it to be so loud.

Yes you will hear an abs sound. I t dose seem loud the first time you here it. It will also kick in with traction control if you start to spin or slide, if you need to suppress the traction control turn off the DSC

Yeap, normal. In addition to your traditional brake calipers, there are also drum brakes inside the wheel hubs that are part of the parking brake system. I think HDC activates these also, but I'm not positive. Sure sounds like it. My kids describe it as a giant monster grinding its teeth.
