I do some heavy-duty towing (~6600lbs) in the summertime here in CO, at high elevation. One of the passes I go over is well above 11k feet, and the LR4 does really well. I do have to rev the holy hell out of it up that steep, windy grade, dropping into 2nd, but otherwise it's plenty powerful.

Out of curiosity, how does it do over Vail pass? Or over Turkey on 285?

I tow to/from Telluride & Boulder, and have taken both of those routes. My '13 does very well on each of those climbs and likes to hang out in 3rd & 4th gears. Monarch Pass on 50 is where it works the hardest, but still does quite well. I actually prefer taking the 285 & 50 route more than I70—less idiots and traffic to deal with (most of the time).
