They have a drain plug and a standard oil filter. you just have to take the metal plate off from the bottom of the front of vehicle to see them. after the plate is off, it's a standard oil change.
check your Mass Air Flow Sensor. It's bolted to your intake hose right after the air cleaner box. if that gets dirty or goes bad you will have a crappy running vehicle. they make a MAF cleaner. I would spend the 6 bucks to clean it to see if that fixes the problem.
Also, all new model Land Rovers are very very touchy with their modules and software. Doesn't take much to make them act crazy. If the battery checks out to be ok, take it in to have it checked at a dealership. Sucks, but might just be a programming issue.
you need to also open up the bleeder (looks like a bid plastic phillips head screw on coolant resevoir) when adding coolant. keep it open until it stops spitting out air and only flowing coolant.
Did you lock the doors after you got out? If so did it stay connected?
It will stay connected for a period of time for convenience, but that should only be a few minutes.
