Christopher, there is no problem in keeping a Freelander for the long run. It could die by age and not by damaged. But there is one major aspect not to be forget when taking care of a Freelander. When it comes to spare parts change the whole chain. I mean if your clutch master let you down...- Saru

Differential Oil Problem
You didn't mention what Range Rover you have. Having rear differential electronic unit probably you have the new RR L322 or RR Sport. If these then you really are in need for part number LR019727. This is the newest Land Rover code for the electronic control rear diff unit oil.- Saru
