Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

Thanks for this. I have a Clek Fllo right now which is also very narrow but will look into the Diono Radian RXT and pair those up with a Cybex Aton for infant. I can live with limited third row access for now. Is it possible to fold down half the third row, let the passenger in through the rear...

Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

This is all great info. Keep it coming! Say I go the CPO route - it seems I am stuck buying whatever is on landroverusa.com. Correct? If I go the independent party/dealer/LR dealer route - looks like best strategy is to buy as low as possible with as few miles as possible, since it's not CPO...

Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

Can you buy a non CPO LR4, then have the dealer certify it and buy a service package from them?

Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

So I could buy an LR4 anywhere and have a dealer check it out for me? How about Craigslist? Like this one - https://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/cto/d/2013-land-rover-lr4/6393793629.html I think getting a CPO car would be the safer route to go for me, but I don't mind getting a pre-owned vehicle...

Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

I have a feeling I'm not going to be a fan of the rotary shift and eco stop as well. The boards I don't care about much. If reliability is the same, V8 more powerful, 2013 probably cheaper then I see no point getting a 2014-16. Am I better off getting a CPO 2013 with 50-60k miles or a non-CPO...

Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

Am I better off buying a 2013 (since it has a V8)? It's also going to be a bit cheaper. Any advantage to getting the 2014/15/16? Better electronics or interior features or reliability? To keep maintenance costs down, is it better to find a service package with a dealer or use a local non-dealer...

Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

What is the sweet spot for year/mileage/price for the LR4? I don't want maintenance headaches. Would it be wise for me to buy an extended warranty or maintenance package? What would typical yearly maintenance run for say a 2015 LR4 with 40k miles? I'm not a car guy.

Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

I'm reasonably confident we'll be able to fit 3 carseats in the 2nd row. The Diono Radian and Clek Fllo/Foonf are very narrow and the Cybex Aton infant seat is narrow as well. The 5yr year old will get into a booster at some point soon too.

Looking at the LR4 for a family hauler

I'm looking at the LR4 as a family hauler for 3 kids to be seated in carseats in the 2nd row (5, 3, and infant). I don't like the look of the new Discovery and it seems less rugged. Besides, I also want to spend less. I am cross-shopping the LR4 vs. the Acura MDX (also checking out Audi Q7 Honda...
