Apologies for being vague. Its a 2000 D2, with 86000 miles, new Plugs, Wires, Ignition Coils (6 months ago), All other fluids changed last year. Front O2 sensors and air filter 1 year old, oil & filter changed every 5k w/ Mobil 1.
Hey Joey,
Never changed them with 85,000 on the clock, also it started shudder / shimmy while sitting idle. Most importantly some codes. 9 in total. P1590, P0174, P0171, P1300,
P0734, P0301, P0303 (last came in twice).
Level is good and No ACE installed.
I'm thinking its the connections in the engine bay, their showing signs of rust/corrosion. I tried sprayinig white lithium grease on them, but the sound came back. I'm trying to catch this before it gets real pricey.
Thanks Joey
00 Disco SII,
I'm getting a noise from steering wheel when I turn it fast. Kind of sounds as if something is/has not been lube properly.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks
I changed this fluid today on my 00 DII, An extra set of hands makes the job better on refill. I do not have the dipstick tube but I managed to fill it with the 5 quarts also.
Does anyone know if its possible to add a dipstick tube to the DII?
Will the DI tube work?
Guys,
I did suspect Corrosion/rust developing under thoses covers but to the extent of swelling them? I guess anything is possible.
Questions are what help us all learn and understand better. Thanks for the answers.
Do you think its possible to remove the covers & salvage the bolts...
Guys,
It is me! All I use is the OEM LUG wrench. Thats it, the lugs have never seen the business end of the impact gun . Maybe I am overtightening them?
Thanks
Hey everyone,
So I've done some maintenance on the Disco II, Brake Fluid flush, F/R Axle fluid, etc.
Any way I noticed that some of the lug nuts at all four corners seem to be swollen? The OE lug wrench barely fit the nut ( I mean less than half on).
I check some local auto parts stores...
My father has a 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi w/ a dealer installed type of device bolted to the frame under the hood. Initially I thought it was B/S but 2 years later (also in the rust belt of the great North east) NO sign of rust or corrosion.
I still have no idea on how it works though.
Good Luck
I use a diluted mix of Simple green & water. Spray it on everything (except electronics), let sit a minute or so , start the engine & rinse off with a garden hose.
