    Upper and Lower Ball Joints

Have the rave manual. Parts arrived and I am going to get to this next week. The manual highlights a number of special rover tools and what I was looking for is info on using alternatives. I have a C-clamp style of ball joint remover that looks like it will work but if anyone has specific...

    Upper and Lower Ball Joints

Mike It is possible that it is actually the lower one but the noise and "squeaking" does appear to be coming from the upper. I checked it out pretty carefully. Is it prudent to change both once it is all apart? C

    Upper and Lower Ball Joints

I have a 2000 DII with little over 120,000km that has at least the upper ball joint shot on one side so my assumption is that I would change both at the same time. How big a job is this going to be to do it myself - reasonable DIY experience and tools. Will I be able to get the ball joints...

    Headrest Removal

I know how it is supposed to work to remove the headrests on the front seats in a 2000 DII but when it doesn't is there a trick to it. I am putting in some seatcovers and the HR must come off to accomplish this. A quarter turn on all the other little plastic pieces works fine but on one...

    OME spring install

Mike I am sticking with the relatively new billsteins for now. Apparently I am within their operating range with the slightly taller springs. The truck had the HD rover springs installed 2 years ago when a winch was mounted o nthe truck. The rear ones are not up to the load I carry so I...

    OME spring install

Getting ready to install new rear springs. They are the Heavy Load part # 2762 springs. Which end goes up??? The more tightly wound end up or vice versa? It may not even make a difference! C

    MAF and SES light

After a long drive to camp and then travelling remote bush roads and trails for 5 days the SES light stayed off the entire time. The diagnosis was bang on and the code reader is clean. Gas consumption even went down. :proud: The fishing was great  and I returned to Tornado...

    MAF and SES light

New MAF installed. Was in a bit of a rush to get away tomorrow so I paid a premium. About a 7 hour drive tomorrow - time will tell if the light comes back! Off on a fishing trip to North Eastern Ontario. Will update on my return. Thanks to all. C

    MAF and SES light

I have read a number of the posts regarding fault codes P0171 and P0174. The answer is clean and or replace the MAF unit. I have just cleaned mine and will take it for a run tomorrow. If I need to I will order a new MAF. I have had this code a few times this summer and each time it has...

My 1971 Series IIA 88" Restoration

No rush - when you get a chance. I am having trouble finding anyhting that might be suitable and perhaps look right as well. I have two series in rough shape and hope to build one good one. I am right at the bulkhead rebuild stage and hope to have it figured out by month end. I just...
